FAQs

Perry Window Cleaning

  • How much do you charge?

Our pricing is competitive and comparable to other established companies in Springfield, OH. Running a legitimate business requires covering employee wages, taxes, and insurance - costs that may not be immediately apparent to customers. Business owners understand that the first portion of each work week goes toward covering these essential expenses. When an employee earns $10.00 per hour, the actual cost to the employer is approximately $14.00 when accounting for legal requirements, and higher when benefits are included. If you encounter pricing that is significantly lower, consider this a warning sign. While price matters, trust and quality service provide substantial value. We provide complimentary estimates with no sales pressure.
  • Do you offer discounts of any kind?

We provide reduced pricing for customers who schedule regular service after their first cleaning. Our rates are time-based, and windows with three months of buildup require less time to clean than those with twelve months of accumulation, resulting in lower costs for frequent service.
  • How often should I have my windows cleaned?

Residential: The frequency depends on your preferences, and we operate year-round, though we avoid climbing on frost or snow-covered roofs for skylight cleaning. Most homeowners schedule annual or semi-annual cleanings to prevent glass deterioration. Others choose service 3-4 times yearly to maintain clear views and preserve their home's well-maintained appearance. Commercial: Most business clients maintain professional appearances with monthly cleaning at minimum. Many select bi-weekly service, while high-traffic establishments choose weekly maintenance to ensure excellent first impressions. Large facilities with extensive glass surfaces may opt for quarterly, semi-annual, or annual service to manage janitorial budgets effectively. A popular alternative to quarterly service is three cleanings per year, scheduled for March, July, and November to avoid harsh winter conditions on larger projects.
  • Do I have to be home to receive a quote?

Your presence is not required for quote preparation. We can typically assess your property and calculate pricing during a walkthrough, then email detailed estimates to your specified address. However, some windows or skylights may be obscured by rooflines or landscaping during our exterior assessment. Additionally, we cannot evaluate interior glass, French doors, mirrors, or other indoor surfaces you might want included without interior access.
  • What if it is raining on my cleaning day?

We will contact you on the morning of your scheduled service, even during rainy conditions, allowing you to decide whether to proceed. In most situations, we continue with the work since home eaves typically shelter windows from light rain. Clean glass does not show rain spots, but dirty windows will display disturbed dirt patterns, which explains the common saying about not cleaning windows in rain. The reality is that window cleaning is possible in rain, but homeowners prefer avoiding the discomfort of getting wet. During heavy or sideways rain, we can clean interior surfaces first and return for exterior work when conditions improve, potentially on a different day for all-day rain events. Our schedule operates at capacity eight months yearly, making exterior-only rescheduling easier than full interior and exterior appointments. While you make the final decision, we request patience as rescheduling may require waiting several weeks in some cases.
  • How high do you go for cleaning windows?

We service windows up to three stories high. Most local homes are two stories, but architectural design and landscaping can effectively create three-story heights for second-floor windows. Our 100% pure water cleaning system enables safe and effective exterior glass cleaning up to 40 feet from ground level. In 2010, we invested in pure water fed pole technology, allowing us to reach elevated and difficult-to-access glass from ground level, including solariums, atriums, and skylights. This environmentally friendly approach uses 100% pure water, leaving no soap or chemical residue, which helps glass stay cleaner longer - benefiting everyone involved.
  • Should I have my windows cleaned before selling my house?

Definitely, and while you might expect this response from a window cleaning company, consider evidence from independent sources. A homeagain.com survey of 2,000 real estate agents, reported in Money Magazine, identified professional window cleaning as one of the most cost-effective, high-return investments for home sale preparation. Money magazine ranked professional window cleaning as the number one return on investment among all pre-sale improvements, delivering a 769% return that represents a sound investment.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. For credit card payments, we can email invoices with secure payment links for convenient computer-based transactions. Our service crews can also process payments, including credit cards, at the time of service completion.
  • Can I just get the outside of my windows cleaned?

Exterior-only cleaning is available, but we strongly recommend cleaning both sides since determining which side contains dirt or smudges can be challenging for both our cleaning team and your quality assessment. Cleaning both sides ensures the highest quality results. Streaks or dirt on the opposite side can be misleading. Customers are frequently surprised by the clarity achieved through professional cleaning compared to household products like Windex and paper towels, or cleaning by maid services. An exception applies to regular customers with multiple annual cleanings, where exterior cleaning may occur more frequently than interior service. Click here to request a window cleaning estimate.
  • Is there anything I need to do prior to your arrival on my cleaning date?

No preparation is required for successful window cleaning, as we will relocate items, window coverings, and furniture as necessary to access your windows. However, several optional steps can enhance service efficiency and quality. You may choose to move items from windows and sills to other locations, particularly collectibles or fragile items you prefer handling personally. Consider trimming plants or trees away from windows and walls, both exterior and interior, to improve cleaning access and prevent glass damage from wind-blown branches. These preparations are entirely optional, but please avoid hosing down windows beforehand, even with the intention of removing major dirt, cobwebs, and debris. Tap water, whether softened or municipal, leaves mineral deposits when dried. Over time, these minerals bond to glass and become difficult or impossible to remove.
